November 14th - Partnership with God in Prayer

Matthew 9:38
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send for
labourers into His harvest.

Pray for spiritual leaders. We need strong, dedicated, spiritual
leaders who will stand for the truth in these difficult days. There
is a need for new leaders to come alongside present leaders and learn
what it means to be faithful until death. According to our Lord you
should be praying every day for your present leader and for new
leaders! The power of leadership hinges upon the prayers of God’s
people!

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed
is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Be careful today! If you think you are able to handle the trials
and temptations of this day without God, you could be in for some
trouble. The Christian who calls upon God to protect his mind and
actions from the temptations of this world, before he starts his day,
is making a wise investment.

“Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to
cease from prayer.”

Psalm 34:4
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my
fears.

Under the canopy of prayer and God’s presence, there is a sense of
security and hope unlike anything else in this world. If you find
yourself worrying or fearful over a situation in your life, be
reminded that the Creator of the world, is in partnership with you.
There is nothing that can reach you that did not first come by Him.
Smile!

Matthew 6:9-10
9 After this manner, therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

When you pray, do you take the time to visualize to Whom you are
praying? If you understand that He is the definition for all holiness
and wisdom, it will demand two responses of you. First, you will
humbly praise Him for just who He is, and second, as you understand
He is the source of all wisdom, you will desire that His will be done
in earth and heaven.

Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard
my cry.

Do you have a specific prayer request that you feel God has not
answered? Don’t be discouraged, as waiting is often part of God’s
answer. The omniscient God sees the big picture for your life, and
timing is everything in His plan. If you are in a waiting period,
it’s comforting to know God is close beside you, just waiting for the
perfect time to give you His very best.

Luke 18:1b
Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

Have you had a day lately, where you felt like everything was
coming in on you and you just wanted to quit? You do okay with the
first two trials, but when the third one comes, you find yourself
wavering. Maybe that’s where you are today. It’s on days like this,
we must remember that we are not alone. Don’t faint, pray! Get on
your knees and connect with your partner, Jesus Christ. He will carry
your burden and renew your mind.

Mark 11:25-26
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any:
that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in
heaven forgive your trespasses.

Do you ever feel like your prayers aren’t getting above your head?
They may not be reaching God’s ears if you are harboring a grudge
against someone. Before you go any further today, stop and ask God to
bring to mind any situation or person with whom you might have an
issue. Prayerfully and humbly ask God’s forgiveness and you
will feel the closeness of His presence once again.

Psalm 138:3
In the day when I cried Thou answerest me, and strengthenest me with
strength in my soul.

It’s almost the end of the week. Physically, you are probably tired
and in need of some strength. We are told that when we call upon God,
He will answer and strengthen us. Have you ever experienced the
prayers of someone else praying for you, and you felt stronger? Would
you take just a minute to pray for someone else in your life this
morning that might be weary?

Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock,
and it shall be opened unto you.

There are three action words in our verse today: ask, seek, knock.
They picture a person who progressively gets serious in their prayers
with God. If you are in need of a word from God today, ask, seek, and
knock, persistently. You may not get your concept of an answer, but
it will open up a closer relationship and awareness of God’s presence
in your life, which is always part of God’s answer.

Psalm 17:6
I have called upon Thee, for Thou wilt hear me, O God: incline Thine
ear unto me, and hear my speech.

When you have a constant awareness of God’s presence with you,
prayer is as natural as breathing. If you will purpose to focus on
God, you will find yourself praying more and wanting to share
everything with your Partner. Be mindful to pause and just listen.
God still speaks to His children.
